Home sweet home

I was pleasantly glad to be home yesterday. It was great to see the kids and wife.
I had been awaken 4 a.m est ( 3 my regular time ) and bounded out to the airport. I arrived plenty of time for the ticket and security line. Fortunately, both were open when I arrived.
The one food stop in the airport that was open that early had plenty of customers for their coffee and bagels.
No issues on the plane or trip home. I grabbed a protein shake in Dallas Airport on my connecting flight.
I guess the two difficult things occur when I get home after being gone for a week.
- 1) I get into a mindset when I am surrounded in my corporate work enviroment. This is difficult for me to break on my first night home. Up there, my focus is on my work and I have a small amount of flexibility to do exactly what I want to do. That may be something as simple as working on my laptop as I push through the channels. The point, is my environment surrounds me and I have total control of it. When I arrive home, my focus is on the family and I do not have control of my environment.
- 2) I get so freaking tired. While I am up there, I am constantly driving my body and mind to stay sharp and keep moving. I get so hyped while I am up there. The massive amounts of freely availible caffeine also helps. However, when I arrive home, I start unwinding and my energy high, goes down. I know it's part of that calming down due to being in a safe environment, but it doesn't hold well when I am falling out early.
